Bottega Veneta Question For All

I have two vintage bottega veneta suitcases. they are mildly awesome, and by the looks of things on the interweb, are possibly somewhat rare, as i absolutely cannot find even one image of similar impedimenta*. they were given to me many years ago by a friend of a friend, so i have no emotional attachment to them, other than they are lovely and fancy. were they convenient to travel with, i would use them like it was my job and be all HEY WATCH IT PAL, THAT'S MY BOTTEGA VENETA LUGGAGE YOU'RE MANHANDLING.

Alas, they are not as handy for travel as say, bags with wheels or shoulder straps. so do i keep them? do i try to sell them? do i attempt to trade them out for a piece of BV i can actually use? i'm really at a loss, other than it seems wasteful to keep putting Baby in a corner (or continue storing them in the attic, as it were, as i am already fighting off hoarder tendencies on a daily basis). your thoughts and suggestions are most welcome.

For perhaps they are worthless and hav [Read More…]

Heidi Montag On Her Hermes Handbags

I am searching some of the famous celebrity blogs to know more about the latest statement and I found this intriguing issue. “A lunch date of Heidi Montag with John McCain’s daughter, Meghan”. This is not the real issue for me.

My eyes accidentally struck on the bag that Heidi Montag carry on her arm. Definitely, this is Hermes Bag where she is fond of. This bag is absolutely beautiful!

Heidi Montag didn’t lose that Hermes handbags after all. She just swapped it for a different color. This ultra-white version is as blindingly bright and beautiful. If you love this bag and the color just spend 3 or 4k dollars on it. [Read More…]

Omega Watch: Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Watches

The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronometer is one luxury sports watch that is really impressing me these days. While it’s a good watch that has been around for some time, and even been equipped with the George Daniels-designed Co-Axial Escapement, the versatile Aqua Terra got a massive boost this year. Why? Omega’s in-house 8500 caliber, and a sharp subtle redesign to go along with this technically impressive and very promising new self-winding movement.

Let’s start with the redesign. The case of the new Omega Aqua Terra watches–in either 38.5 or 41.5mm sizes–is very much like the old, and shares a lot in common with the legendary Speedmaster Professional chronograph. It’s got just the right blend of polished and brushed surfaces, meaning it works extremely well regardless of your attire. The slender polished bezel looks quite elegant, and it frames the slightly curved sapphire crystals very nicely, indeed. However, it is the dials where you notice some entirely new beauty revea [Read More…]

IWC Aquatimer Watch Collection: Nice Tech, Weird Looks?

IWC dive watch enthusiasts rejoiced to see a freshened up line of IWC Aquatimer watches released recently at SIHH 2009 in Geneva. There are a number of new models, and a slightly updated a depth gauge version as well (the Deep Two). IWC seemed to take a completely different approach this year as the line is much more colorful and shiny than it was previously. I am sure that the watches are mechanically and functionally superb, but I have mixed feelings on the new looks. Still the details are impressive, especially the use of sapphire crystals over the rotating bezels.

People associate professional instruments with IWC watches. The Aquatimer series was always for the serious enthusiast. The new line has models that almost look cartoony in some angles, and the sheer range of colors available seems to miss the point of why people chose IWC Aquatimer watches over competitor offerings. Looking at the large hands, and bight yellows, oranges, blues, and other colors, I kept thinking to [Read More…]

Era Ends For James Bond Rolex Submariner Date Wristwatch

Basel, Switzerland— For the first time in the history of James Bond films, Rolex is no longer offering a current watch model that’s consistent with any on-screen choice of 007.

A new Rolex Submariner Date reference 116610LN has just been introduced at Baselworld 2010 (March 18-25), the premier trade show for the wristwatch industry, held annually in Basel, Switzerland. It replaces the Rolex 16610 Sub Date which was introduced in 1988, according to experts Franca E. Guido Mondani and Lele Ravagnani, who discussed this in their definitive book, Rolex Submariner Story.

The history of Rolex and the movie-Bond character dates back to 1961 and pre-production planning for the first Eon Productions contribution to this series, Dr. No. From the very beginning, filmmakers recognized the importance of wristwatch selection in fleshing out their lead man. As John Cork and Bruce Scivally emphasized in James Bond: The Legacy, “he could not just wear a watch, it needed to be a Rolex.”
